We work all developmental delay and disorder children with intensive and holistic approach focusing on cognitive behavioral therapy, gross and fine motor therapy, physical therapy, sensory integration/ occupational therapy, behavior modification, relation development therapy, applied behavioral analysis using optimistic and child friendly approaches and clinician directed models.

We started Shishu Pragathi Child Development center from 2014 we worked with newborns, infants, toddlers, children with various developmental concerns, delays and disorders providing physical therapy, sensory integration, early intervention, cognitive therapy, behavioral and speech and language therapy, art therapy, remedial therapy, parental counselling, individualized developmental plans.

At Shishu Pragathi Child Development center we believe in early developmental assessment and early intervention with intensive effective, evidence-based intervention focusing on all areas of development-like vision, auditory, gross motor, fine motor, sensory, behavioral, speech and language, cognitive, logic, feeding, self-help skills, academic skills, Our vision is promoting prevention as well as early intervention reducing severity of developmental delay and disorders. At our clinic we believe in collecting history of development of every child and assess them from neurological, physical growth, weight and height parameters, genetic, gastric issues, food allergies, metabolic and neurological observation, assessments and follow-up medical doctors or specialist guidance addressing developmental concern in most advanced way possible. Goals at Shishu Pragathi development center is to create awareness among parents about importance of developmental assessment for each and every kid,not of only aiming at-risk and high-risk infants and toddlers at each every month from birth to three years of age follow up to track milestones of all developmental areas, correlate with pre, peri and post-natal history, family environment, parental roles in stimulation in early identification or catch infants with delay in development due to various developmental concerns and provide plan for early stimulation at homes promoting all areas of development, counsel parents how to interact with their kids on par with their age, toys to buy, create environment according to child developmental needs. Early intervention plays key role in better prognosis, reduce severity of developmental issues and improve quality of life of special children and people with disabilities.

What is speech and language therapy?

Speech and language therapy is an effective and evidence based scientific discipline provided by bachelors and master trained speech and language professionals to infants, toddlers, children and adults with speech and language problems, communication disorders, articulation disorders, voice disorders due to neurogenic, psychogenic, traumatic conditions, genetic syndromes.

Speech and language therapy is provided to toddlers and children to improve understanding and expression skills of language for children with autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorders, cerebral palsy, developmental motor disorders, auditory processing disorders, sensory processing disorders apraxia of speech, intellectual disability, learning disorders, slow learners, stammering or fluency problems, speech clarity problems due articulation and phonological disorders.

Toddlers and children with difficulty eating and has aspiration issues is further provided advanced feeding treatment options like gastric tubes to meet nutrition and dietary requirements of everyday life.

Speech and language pathologist cum feeding expertise will work with textures directly in therapy sessions, perform oral exercises, massages to improve oral awareness, reduce sensory issues, improve oral range of motion of jaw lips, tongue and oral muscles.

Role of early intervention

Early intervention plays preventive role as a primary and secondary prevention leading to improving infants, toddlers and children to improve fast pace as well as structural and functional changes in brain to promote best prognosis.

Early start of therapy improves child development in all areas of development follow ladder or chain of normal milestones in fast pace promoting social and academic development, scholastic progress reduces severity of diagnosis making child to progress functionally making them as normal as possible.

To make an infant, toddler and children are eligible for early intervention need regular developmental assessment from birth to three years to assess different areas of development through milestone observation, formal developmental scales assessment and counselling parents according to risk factors and development.
